Squid and cuttlefish season begins
As every year, when the summer ends, the expected squid and the coveted cuttlefish come to our shores. Recreational fishermen have traditionally fished these specimens by hand from a boat using a flywheel mounted with lead jars. With the introduction of new materials and elements, this fishing reached new heights. It was the inclusion of the carbon rods, the braided ones and the little birds and jibidevones that gave the fisherman the opportunity to tempt them also from the coast. The rods to be used from a boat are usually very sensitive toe to detect the smallest of bites. As for the coastal ones, those of the spinning type with very light action are usually used due to their reactivity. The reels are usually light in size, typically 2500, 3000, or 4000 size. The lines are often low diameter braided for smooth, precise casting and zero elasticity. The great revolution was the irruption in the European market of squids or as they are better known, the little birds. These imitate grass fish that remain suspended in the water and are the favorite bite of squid and cuttlefish. There are different types, sizes and colors. As for the color, it must be said that those with luminescent motifs are the most suitable for the night and those with strong and realistic colors for the day.
