Description
Folding grapnel type anchor in galvanized steel designed especially designed to anchor in rocky bottoms. Thicker stem to facilitate lateral fall and favor drag until a reliable anchor is achieved. Available in different weights depending on the length of the boat (one kg of anchor per meter of length is recommended).
Details
This folding anchor model makes it easy to stow it on the boat. It is recommended to connect one meter of chain per meter of boat length to the grapple to lay the whole on the seabed and achieve perfect anchoring.
In the lower part of the grapple it has an anchoring ring where it is recommended to join with the chain by means of a shackle. The chain is then stretched over the entire length of the stem and attached to the top end ring by a bridle or weak fishing line. If the anchor is screwed in, all you have to do is turn the boat 180º and put some gear in, the weak line starts and the anchor comes out from the lower end.
How to choose the recommended anchor weight?
It is recommended to use one kilo of anchor per meter of boat length and kayaks usually choose the weights of 0.7 kg and 1.5 kg.
The chain to use is usually one meter of 6 mm chain per meter of length up to 3.2 kg of anchor and 8 mm the rest. Kayaks with a meter of 6mm chain is enough.
